Let's see. Never heard back from Fred. And the last 3 comments are just plain stupid. This has turned into a great blog I see. Glad I haven't bothered to waste my time any more on it.

Mona vie does not contain 1/3 of acai berry in its formula. The person that claims that is a idoit. It barely has 5% acai berry in it. I sold Mona Vie, it is good if you dont have a real job and want to make other people money. It was a waste of 6 months of ny life

Yvonne, you've come to the right place. Monavie has several criminals already working for them, so you'll fit right in. I hope you weren't planning on making a lot of money, because the average distributor makes a little less than minimum wage.

I would like to know as well, Fred. I challenge unverified reports of treatments or cures by the pro-MonaVie crowd, but I will also challenge unverified reports of illness by the anti-MonaVie people. It's a low-pH fruit juice. That's all it is. It may spoil if not kept properly, but it shouldn't make anyone sick.

Fred - can you explain your last comment? Now you know why? What do you know? You're saying the fruit juice made an older couple sick? How? And why would you have to get on antibiotics? I have no idea what you could mean and would honestly like to know.

I have not tried Monavie yet so I will not give my opinion YET, but I have 4 bottles being shipped to me from my sister. I have suffered from chronic Migraines for about 16 years. I get about 10 per month. My sister has heard that they drink has helped Migraine sufferers. I don't expect it to work, I am realistic, but if it does....you better believe I will sign up to distribute it! My sister claims it has greatly helped her with her chronic pain from "plantar fasciites", and her friends mother has had major relief from arthritis...so yes I'm willing to give it a try! Will post again after 1 to 2 months.

I won't be holding my breath waiting for your citations on pro MonaVie studies. I've looked for them. They don't exist, unless you're talking about made up stuff on some distributors websites. Those don't qualify. I won't convince you of the science, because either you don't understand science or don't want to understand it because it doesn't fit your view of what is nutrionally valid. You call me close-minded? I'm the one who's spent hours researching your product for you. You've accepted as gospel, the word of other distributors. MonaVie, LLC doesn't even support your assumptions.

As far as the energy drink is concerned, your reasoning is so ridiculous it doesn't even require a response. My points from the previous posts remain accurate and need not be repeated.

I'll remain on this site and others like it to inform the uninformed, and confront scoundrels who would take advantage those people.

You can list all the sources you want since you seem to have an abundance of time on your hands. I will go back and find some of the ones I listed previously - since I already did do that that conflicted with some of what you've posted and can be found in some of my earlier postings - when I have time. It's late here and I work full time and have a family to support - not too sure about you. I have also given some websites with information on the ingredients you seem to now have stopped arguing about as far as whether or not the energy drink is any better than the Red Bulls out there. Perhaps you've seen the light and just aren't big enough to admit you're wrong?

But what you continue to ignore is that there can be huge differences in your "apple" and other fruits that are tested. What you find at the grocery store is sadly lacking in nutrients and that's been proven again and again. And just because I can't immediately point to studies that show it, doesn't mean it's not true. Perhaps somebody out there (that hasn't fallen asleep listening to all this already) knows of some good sites that point to this.

Regardless, you can say what you want, for whatever reason you want, that I have no "proof". I have all the proof I need in REAL LIFE with what it's done. If the people reading this are so closed-minded like YOU are, then they can just sit back, take their drugs, and go on living with their illnesses, never knowing if this could have helped them like it did me and others, because they're too cheap to spend a few dollars on something that costs less than their beer or Starbucks that they drink and spend money on all the time. If they're that closed-minded, I really don't care. Luckily, not everyone is, and those people will benefit from having known that there is a natural product out there that has helped a LOT of people and that could help them.

If and when I have time to find the sites I saw before that conflict with yours, I will come back and post them. I'm pretty much over arguing with you since it seems there's no one else out here anymore that this could help.

Now that Roseann is done with her diatribe, what have we learned from her? She has an unverified anecdote. She wants you to buy MonaVie. No facts to back her up. Not one citation of a scientific paper. Zero.

It really doesn't matter if you believe I'm a food technologist or not. My citations are from studies and analysis that other scientists have performed. This includes Dr. Schauss from AIBMR Life Sciences, who conducted the MonaVie-sponsored study.

Here are my points followed by the scientific study citations:

1) MonaVie has an ORAC of 22.81 umoles/ml. and a total phenolics (polyphenols/all plant-based antioxidants combined) of 1.48 mg/ml.
AIBMR STUDY: http://www.aibmr.com/news/pdfs/antioxidant-juice.pdf

2) There are 143 vegetables/fruits listed in the USDA ORAC Table of Selected Foods - 2007. 55 of them have a higher ORAC value than MonaVie. This includes: apples, blackberries, blueberries, almonds, plums, etc... ONE apple has 2.4 more ORAC units than an entire days serving of MonaVie: 6,413 umoles to MonaVie's 2,698 umoles.
ORAC TABLE OF SELECTED FOODS: http://www.ars.usda.gov/SP2UserFiles/Place/12354500?Data/ORAC/ORAC07.pdf

3) For juice drinkers, there are several juices with a higher ORAC and more polyphenols, including pomegrantate, black cherry, concord grape and blueberry juices.
UCLA STUDY: http://www.pomwonderful.com/pdf/Antioxidant_Beverage_Study.pdf

There are ZERO studies that show MonaVie lowers cholesterol or helps in any way, or form, any ailment. Period.

Here's what MonaVie's Black Diamond University says about MonaVie Pulse:

The plant sterol activity, effects, and benefits in MonaVie Pulse as it relates to heart health and cholesterol are significantly less than that found in drugs.

So, Roseann, you're own company doesn't even support you. All we have is your claim. Unverified. And you want us to buy expensive fruit juice because you say so. I put my sources out there. Where are yours?

OK, mr. Food Tech - since you're going to insult me by insinuating that I'm lying about not taking any cholesterol-lowering medications when I specifically told you I wasn't, I'm going to accuse YOU of lying about your educational background and your supposed 40-years of experience in the industry. We have NO IDEA whatsoever if you're telling the truth or not. And since I KNOW for a FACT that I am, I'm going with my actual experience WITH THIS PRODUCT instead of your supposed experience for which we have nothing at all to back it up - other than your word, which is certainly no better than mine. In your own words, "I have no idea" if you're telling me the truth. Now if we're through calling each other liars, maybe we can get back to the point.

And - by the way - as you could see by the results I sent you, Pulse not only lowered my BAD cholesterol (from 161 to 77), it raised my good cholesterol (from 72 to 81), lowered my triglycerides (from 121 to 82) AND my overall cholesterol (83 points lower.) Not sure why you wouldn't acknowledge that. Just out of curiosity - IF I'm telling the truth, and I was not and am not on any cholesterol-lowering drugs, would you then admit that the Pulse DOES treat high-cholesterol? Are you at least open-minded enough to admit that?

Sure - you can listen to your doctor. The same ones that prescribe the medications that are PROVEN to cause horrible and sometimes deadly side effects. Why wouldn't you? They've had SO MUCH EDUCATION and still end up killing people all the time. I'm not blaming them - they're doing what they're trained to do. Prescribe medications to treat symptoms. Not actually CURE anything. I listen to my doctors all the time. Because I'm sure they MEAN well, and they DO have a lot of education. But they're not perfect, and neither is the whole science of medicine. So when I find a doctor that has a totally closed mind and won't acknowledge results that people have on a perfectly natural product - not one that drug companies make tons of money on - then I'm going to try it myself and see if it works. Happily, this one did. And my doctor was big enough to admit they were wrong.

And I'm not giving nutritional advice. I'm telling people what a product did for me. And I'm suggesting that they NOT let someone else that has absolutely no first hand knowledge of that product discourage them from giving it a try if they'd rather do something good for their body and not keep putting drugs into it. If they can get the same results (or better) with a natural product, that is a much better alternative. And anyone that doesn't think so probably has some stake in the drug companies.

As for the possible cancer link - how many products are out there that are FDA approved (including HUNDREDS OF COMMONLY PRESCRIBED DRUGS) that have an even stronger warning that that on them? Some of them even say they can cause death! There's nothing in all the websites I read about this supplement that remotely suggests that - IN MODERATION - this causes cancer or any other negative side effect. And, I repeat, it even suggested that it can PREVENT certain kinds of cancers. There are probably very FEW products that Won't cause cancer or some other terrible disease if you overdo it. You can die by drinking too much water too. The TINY amount that is in this product is absolutely no worse for you than the drugs that doctors prescribe for any number of reasons. There are plenty of people that regularly consume the bad-for-you energy drinks that are on the market now. They're selling like crazy, so it won't do any good to just say "get some sleep" because they're not going to listen to that. I'm not suggesting drinking it if you've never had the need for an energy drink in the first place. But as a substitute for what you're already doing, this is a welcome, good-for-you alternative. No matter what mr. Food Tech would like you to believe.

And in the Emv there IS NO ADDED SUGAR - it all comes from the fruits in there. And you don't know anything more than my doctor did if you're trying to convince people that that's bad for them - and she admitted she was wrong. You apparently are as closed-minded as my doctor that wouldn't listen until I showed her my blood test results. Probably everyone else's doctors will react the same as mine did - until you show them they're wrong. If you're so smart and have all this experience, why are you wasting your time on this blog? You're certainly not helping anybody here. And your suggestion that I "give it up" will be taken with a grain of salt, just like the rest of your "facts". Until you can prove that this product did not and does not have the effect on me that I've seen it has, you're not going to convince me of anything. I don't care how many times you keep repeating your ORAC figures because I've seen those reported differently depending on who you ask. And I'm not talking about MonaVie websites. The results speak for themselves. And I also beg to differ that no one's listening except other MonaVie distributors, because I've had quite a few people that weren't distributors that have HAD AN OPEN MIND and tried it and have had similar results. Just because my results weren't quantified in a lab study doesn't mean it's propaganda.

I just can't wait until they do go ahead and spring for some studies so you'll have to eat your words. Until then, I don't need those studies because I've done my own on my own body and KNOW that it works. If anyone else wants to try to get away from those expensive drugs that the drug companies keep shoving down their throats, they're more than welcome to try it themselves. Or I suppose, since this is SO expensive (at about $4/day), they could keep taking their pills, drinking their Starbucks, drinking their Red Bulls, and smoking cigarettes, (because all of that is SO MUCH LESS expensive) and slowly kill themselves. It all boils down to what you want to spend your money on. You can call it overpriced - I've even called it overpriced if you read my previous posts - or you can try it and see if the results you get are worth it to you. Or if you'd rather have that Starbuck's that you KNOW is awful for you and costs about the same. And Starbuck's (nor the drug companies) won't give you a discount on your next purchase because you referred someone to them. This company WILL. I haven't had to actually pay for the juice that I drink since about 2 months after I started telling people about it, which makes it even better.

Roseann, yes the information on yerba mate said "possible links" to cancer. So, if I'm deciding what to put in my body, that would catch my attention. This is especially true when we're talking about a product (MonaVie EMV) that is nothing more than a carrier for caffeine. It's not needed. It may contain a carcinogen. It has a lot of sugar. It has a lot of calories. It's expensive. I'm not an idiot.

Regarding diabetics. NO DIABETIC SHOULD TAKE NUTRITIONAL ADVICE FROM A MONAVIE DISTRIBUTOR, PERIOD. I have yet to encounter one that knew what they were talking about. If you are even thinking about this product, take the bottle to your doctor and ask him/her. DO NOT STOP TAKING OR CHANGE YOUR MEDICATION IN ANY WAY. You don't have to take my word for it. You can believe your doctor or you can believe someone with zero nutritional knowledge, that is trying to peddle, what is basically, nothing more than fruit juice.

And Roseann, that is what I do know. My Master's degree in Food Science from UC Davis, with thirty years as a food technologist, including five years in a fruit juice lab gives me the right to say: In my expert opinion, MonaVie is an over-priced useless fruit juice.

The ORAC is 2,698 umoles per 4 oz. An apple has 6,413 umoles. 2.4 times higher ORAC than a days serving of MonaVie for about $.75.

Don't give me any BS about the special blend of 19 fruits making it some miracle brew. It ain't so. There isn't ONE study that suggests that 4 oz. of MonaVie has more phytonutrients than small amounts of everyday produce.

And no, it doesn't treat or cure anything. The cholesterol tests that you sent me showed a decrease in your bad cholesterol. However, I have no idea if you were taking cholesterol lowering meds at the same time.

So, as soon as you can pinpoint one scientific study that even remotely backs up your claims, I suggest you give it up. The only people buying your propaganda are other MonaVie distributors.

First of all, if I were PROMOTING the product, it would be for my own benefit, and I have never attempted to sell the product or sign anyone up through this website, so that pretty much negates that point. There's definitely a difference between defending it and promoting it. You can read it however you like. I've already agreed that they don't even want us on any websites or blogs because, honestly, there are many misinformed and uninformed distributors that I've read contributions from here and elsewhere that really don't know what they're talking about, and blurt out things that aren't true, thinking that they know what they're talking about. Whatever I've said, I KNOW from either personal experience OR can point to websites (not MonaVie websites) from which I got the information. And I am honest enough to give ALL of the information - unlike SOME PEOPLE here, that only pull out bits and pieces to try to make the product appear bad. Especially when you try to say that yerba mate is a "suspected carcinogen" without giving the full information that went on in MANY other websites where it's listed as a PREVENTATIVE for cancer. The one reference I was able to find used the words "heavy consumption", "may indicate" and "possible link". Yet you try to make it sound like it's much more than that.

If you want to get technical about it, I'm not a distributor - my husband is. So go try to turn me in :-) You just don't like it that someone isn't letting you get away with all your negative comments without having to deal with someone pointing out the positives. What I find funny about your constantly trying to bring that up is - WHY? What's your point? Who cares (especially you who apparently hates the company), on a blog, what the company wants or doesn't want its distributors to do? This isn't about the company, it's about the product. You apparently keep mentioning this because you'd LOVE for me to shut up and not argue with you. But that would make this blog pretty darn boring, wouldn't it?

Bottom line - ONCE AGAIN - is I believe that everyone - including diabetics - should give this a try to see if it might help them - unless they're allergic to one of the ingredients in it. That doesn't mean stop your medication. It just means try a small amount and see how your body reacts. I don't think 2 oz. is going to put anyone over the edge. And no, I'm not a doctor, but guess what - neither are you Mr. Food Tech. So stop trying to act like you're the final authority. (And even if you were, MY doctor was wrong and admitted it.) You don't know 1/2 of what you'd like to make people believe, and you're TOTALLY closed-minded.
I NEVER said anyone should stop taking ANY medication, especially for diabetes. I simply said that a friend of mine was able to REDUCE his insulin intake - and that's because he monitored his blood sugar - LIKE HE ALWAYS DOES - many times over the course of a day to see if he needed it. And HE DIDN'T NEED AS MUCH when he was drinking the juice. So don't try to put words in my mouth. YOU should be ashamed for doing THAT. And you should also be ashamed for trying to discourage someone from at least trying something that could HELP them that isn't a drug. I don't see you telling anyone about any of the terrible side effects from the DRUGS that you think I'm awful for suggesting that they MIGHT be able to avoid taking. (Not suggesting that they stop taking it - at least not until they see how it affects them personally.) My doctor AGREED that I didn't need to take the drugs previously prescribed once she saw my test results. ANYONE knows that there are very bad side effects from the majority of drugs that are prescribed today. You'd think, with a name like Food Tech, you'd advocate for finding alternatives to those drugs to help people reduce their dependency on them, but you seem to be doing the opposite. Prescription Drug overdoses and prescribed dosages' side effects are the cause of a large number of deaths in this country. Gee - I don't remember hearing about ANY deaths from OD'ing on fruit juice.

As for your point about the caffeine - I agree with you. Yes, it is obviously the caffeine that provides most of the energy. But, in the websites I found, it differentiates between good and bad sources of caffeine, and it says that these ingredients are better sources than others. That was MY point. And as for the Pulse formula not doing its job or I wouldn't need the Emv, it DOES do its job in lowering my cholesterol, and I don't need the Emv unless I'm driving long distances, and no matter how good I feel when I get in the car, if I'm driving a boring stretch of highway for 6-8 hours, I'm pretty sure that most people would need Something to keep them alert. And this does that for me. And I don't have to be concerned with the bad things that are in the other so-called energy drinks that are on the market.

I don’t see you telling anyone about any of the terrible side effects from the DRUGS that you think I’m awful for suggesting that they MIGHT be able to avoid taking. (Not suggesting that they stop taking it – at least not until they see how it affects them personally.) My doctor AGREED that I didn’t need to take the drugs previously prescribed once she saw my test results. ANYONE knows that there are very bad side effects from the majority of drugs that are prescribed today. You’d think, with a name like Food Tech, you’d advocate for finding alternatives to those drugs to help people reduce their dependency on them, but you seem to be doing the opposite. Prescription Drug overdoses and prescribed dosages’ side effects are the cause of a large number of deaths in this country. Gee – I don’t remember hearing about ANY deaths from OD’ing on fruit juice.

As for your point about the caffeine – I agree with you. Yes, it is obviously the caffeine that provides most of the energy. But, in the websites I found, it differentiates between good and bad sources of caffeine, and it says that these ingredients are better sources than others. That was MY point. And as for the Pulse formula not doing its job or I wouldn’t need the Emv, it DOES do its job in lowering my cholesterol, and I don’t need the Emv unless I’m driving long distances, and no matter how good I feel when I get in the car, if I’m driving a boring stretch of highway for 6-8 hours, I’m pretty sure that most people would need Something to keep them alert. And this does that for me. And I don’t have to be concerned with the bad things that are in the other so-called energy drinks that are on the market.
