Given some recent (and drastic) regulation changes, all credit card companies had to raise APRs (not just Citi), just to offset a portion of the negative impact of this new regulation. Because of these new laws, credit will be limited and more expensive now. However, a few credit card companies are still running great (and free) programs like this one, to retain their customers and reward them for their loyalty.

Since Citi Cards raised my APR from 6.99% to 29.99% I do not support anything they offer. Never late, good customer. Google it - I'm not alone. All that bail-out money from our tax dollars and what do we get? Yeah, that's some reward program.

I actually own several Citi Cards for credit card usage. I also several Bank of America, a Chase Freedom card, at least one American Express card, and even an old Discover Card that I don't use any more. I've found that Citibank credit cards tend to offer the best deals for purchases and cardholder benefits. The ThankYou network is sort of annoying as most point based reward programs go because you have to manually redeem your points for prize redemption before they expire, but if you do it right, the redemption rate is pretty good and among the best among the credit card issuers.
I've heard of the Citi Private Pass program but wasn't aware of how broad it was. I figured it was some paid membership program for cardmembers. Didn't know it was free. Just another interesting program for Citi customers. It's benefits like these that make me happy that I'm a responsible reward credit card user. They truly offer more windfalls than cash usage ever will!
