<content type="html" xml:lang="en" xml:base="http://www.moneybluebook.com/">Just park legally, keep your car registered and insured and keep your license current. Then you should have no problem. No one owes you anything if you choose to ignore signs. I wish I could get every idiot who comes to my "quaint" town and thinks we don't need to use silly things like our own driveways and blocks streets and highways so their kids can sled in the road towed away. There are unfortunately more inconsiderate people than there are tow trucks.</content>

<content type="html" xml:lang="en" xml:base="http://www.moneybluebook.com/">Thank you so much for this post. This is great.
There was one time I was at a bank and I had made a withdrawal which I needed to deposit at another bank that was just down the street. I let the tellers at bank #1 know what I was doing and they said it was fine for me to remain parked there (despite signs warning that your car would be towed if you left the lot, blah blah blah). I went to bank #2 and made my deposit. When I returned, lo and behold, there was a tow truck in the parking lot of bank #1 getting ready to hitch up my car! No way! I had to have the bank tellers come out and explain the situation to the tow truck driver before he would go away. Seriously, what an annoyance!
I could go on and on about parking stories. Suffice it to say that you venting your irritation is totally appreciated and there are many people out there who identify with you.</content>

		<content type="html" xml:lang="en" xml:base="http://www.moneybluebook.com/">Hey man,
We tow truck drivers are honest decent people, man. Any cars parked in unauthorized area should towed, man. Even it it's just a second, man. Those people who parked in the plaza should know better, man. They were just trying avoid paying parking fee at metro, man. That's so wrong, man. We tow truck drivers maybe merciless, but that's how people are going to learn, man. We, tow truck drivers live by honor code - that we only tow cars illegally parked. There's no such thing is improper ticket, man. People should always look for signs if they are okay to park, man.</content>

<content type="html" xml:lang="en" xml:base="http://www.moneybluebook.com/">During my sophomore year in college, my dorm room had a great view of cornfields and the 'STAFF' parking lot which had a primo on-campus location. Watching cars get towed (who didn't have permits) was a daily occurence and became almost comical for me and my roommate. However, I would regularly see bumpers get torn off and re-fitted by shady tow-truck drivers. That was sickening.
I agree about Parking Wars though, its an entertaining show for many of the reasons listed above.</content>

		<content type="html" xml:lang="en" xml:base="http://www.moneybluebook.com/">Hey Mrs. Micah,
Well in your particular case I think I'd understand..but sometimes, I think these tow truck drivers are much too eager to make a quick buck. I got towed from the visitor parking area of my own apartment building a month ago even though I have my own reserved parking spot elsewhere in the covered garage.
We have about 10 visitor parking spots outside with unauthorized 15 minute parking warning signs displayed. However, none of the spots were being used as it was 1:30 am in the wee morning when I pulled up. Rather than heading into the parking garage, since I just needed to grab some stuff from my apartment and was heading out again, I parked in the visitor's area and went upstairs, intending to be back in about thirty minutes. When I got back, I discovered that my car had been towed! Apparently a patrolling tow truck discovered my car parked there by itself for longer than 15 minutes - an easy target at 2:00 AM.
Something like that just makes me mad...it's not like I was taking up spots and I live there. :(</content>

<content type="html" xml:lang="en" xml:base="http://www.moneybluebook.com/">On the other hand, working in property management, we had to periodically get people towed off our loading dock (!!!) or out of 20 minute zones they'd been in for an hour. We tried to work with a reputable company, kept signs clear and updated, but we also needed someone to remove the cars. Because if our building was going to function, people couldn't just park on the loading dock or treat our courtesy spots as day-long parking. A day in our garage was less than $10.
We'd call the businesses as a courtesy, but if no one moved the car it would be towed.
"Unsuspecting drivers" in most cases should know better.</content>
