So I just went to annualcreditreport.com and went through the matrix to get a FREE credit report and I was just charged $11.00 by TransUnion for my FREE credit report. It has been 4 years since I last ordered a FREE report and it was FREE then.
FREE was not FREE today. I could not find any way around the charge, I could not go anywhere on TransUnion unless I filled in a cc number for the $11.00 FREE report charge.

Fantastic read, thanks. It's much clearer now what a credit score is truly about and how it is important. Even if not in debt, keeping a well balanced credit score is vitally important.

Thanks for this great info and also for pointing out that freecreditreport. COM is not the way to obtain your FREE Credit Report.
Sad but true that many Americans do fall for these TV ads, but I am glad that you are uncovering here the truth and also pointing the AnnualCreditReport. com as way to go.
Thank You
