Thanks for writing the vision and making it plain. I have already incorporated some of the steps in my daily life and will continue to work on the remainder on the road to becoming a millionaire. My only regret: I wish that I had mapped out a similar plan earlier.

WOW! Kudos to Isaac, Maria and Sherin for actually reading the post and offering quality responses! Issac, thanks for introducing a dose of self-reflection into the mix. Maria, you've summarized the fundamentals beautifully. Sherin, your insight is invaluable to those who heed your advice. Also to Alex, for sharing some 'tangible' options for the less-than-savvy readers to actually save some of their hard-earned pay. As for the author of this thoughtful post...Raymond, thank you for the clarity.

Perhaps I have read these steps previously elsewhere; perhaps, I've known all along the action plan that was needed to accomplish what I feel my family requires for a secure future. Either way, you've put things in perspective for me. Thus giving me the confidence to believe that we can follow through with our plans despite what comes our way. Because life happens and will inevitably continue to do so...lol. So, with that being said, I'm off to reevaluate our finances and set forth a clear budget that includes investing! I will no longer concede that I can not afford to invest. As you've made me realize that I can not afford not to.

Becoming a millionaire will not necessarily make everyone happy but with all things being equal, I can unequivocally state that those who are wealthy are generally more happy than those who are not. Of course, it's also true that "more money equals more problems", but that's another story.

Becoming a millionaire is a lifelong journey - an aspiration for financial independence and a lifestyle that is debt free and unconstrained by the burdens of the 9-5 working life. It represents freedom and material achievement- not necessarily about yachts, sports car, and fancy jewelry - but about freedom and the availability of options. It's not something that one should necessarily obsess over, but it's certainly a worthy lifelong objective in my opinion.

Hi, I'm Isaac Yassar and I help people reach success in self development, business, and blogging for free. Jessica, If you want to be a millionaire just to buy yourself fancy clothes and sexy shoes, I guess it will be difficult for you to make it, since you sounds like only a "wanna be" millionaire. And it shows your own personal quality, which is in my opinion, just in my own opinion, not too deep I guess. Money is not the final goal, most valuable things in life cannot be bought with money. Don't be a slave of money. If you want to obtain solid and sustainable success, you need determination and personal quality. Dig yourself a little deeper, won't cha? :D

Why become a millionaire again? I would like to be happy, creative, inspired and an Integral part of the greater culture. I've met more miserable and useless millionaires than any other type. I know some wealthy people, but they do not focus on dollar amounts.

Great post.
How true what you have said, "The Process Of Becoming A Millionaire Is Not A Get Rich Quick Scheme, But A Patient and Systematic Approach To Earning, Saving, and Investing Money" and yet we find most of us will fall prey for all kinds of get rich quick schemes and and give up half way on our quest to be a millionaire..

All this can be overcome by doing your first step -Educate Yourself In Personal Finance, and Develop The Drive To Learn.. The most important step of all..If you are not willing to do this, then you can forget your dreams of becoming a millionaire!

Did you know... the word "plan" is in your terrific article 19 times!

How true "The Process Of Becoming A Millionaire Is Not A Get Rich Quick Scheme, But A Patient and Systematic Approach To Earning, Saving, and Investing Money"

It's about planning, thinking, taking educated risk and being willing to change.... that after you've unleashed your passion.

I agree that the way to financial independence is a long slow road but one worthwhile in pursuing. I love the fact that we have similar views! :-)

I agree with the points you mentioned in this post. It is advisable to add the requirement of life and asset protection through proper and enough insurance.

Another take on no. 6, know what your long-term needs are. If you can't save for both your wedding and your retirement, borrow for the former and save for the latter. If you are already retired and you do not have enough savings, you might be forced to go back and look for a job.

Under point #2 what is the point of being an eventual millionaire if a high praying profession such as lawyer or doctor is being used as a cash generator and this path leads to nothing but stress, depression and no job satisfaction?

Otherwise some very solid advice in this article.
