We did this for my birthday (a few days after V day) this year. The other half joked that we wouldn't be going out to eat for a month or two after the check, but it was worth it. It also helps that he saved up for it so it won't take a big chunk out of our monthly budget.

A,
I think Melting Pot also emails out free birthday fondue coupons if you register on their website. Great way to catch some free dessert fondue.
For vegetarians...dipping different bits of bread into the cheesy mix is very tasty - yum!

I saw this post on paidtwice!
I love the Melting Pot! This summer me and the girls on my internship in North Carolina (6 of us in all) went and just got 2 posts of cheese (kinda the appetizer) and 2 pots of chocolate for dessert. It ended up being about $15 for each of and it was so much fun! Our waiter was supper nice we all had a blast.
On our honeymoon in Kansas City, Hubby and I frequented the Melting Pot on the Plaza. It was down underground and we were placed near the bar. That was a little awkward. Since we are vegetarian I think we just got salads, 1 pot of cheese and 1 pot of chocolate. It maybe came up $75 for both of us. (I am thinking it was lower than that though).
So if you really want to go with someone special, just pop in for dessert. Get dressed up, eat at home then catch a movie and go dip some bananas, strawberries and Oreo covered marshmallows into their pot of yummy chocolate! You can always go with other friends and just get cheese and chocolate- it is much cheaper if you just order the pots and not the whole coursed menu thing.
Just thought I would let you know how we have indulged but not spend a whole lot of money! Good luck!
