Employee and Student Discounts For Your Cell Phone Service
Most of the major cell phone carriers offer deeply discounted savings for large companies or groups, including schools. If you work for a major business, corporation, or attend college or graduate school, chances are you may be entitled to a hefty discount towards your monthly wireless mobile phone bill. Many businesses and schools have negotiated employee and student discounts with the major wireless carriers. Even alumnus and employees at certain major universities may be entitled to discounted rates due to their current or previous association with their schools.
But for some reason, many people are not aware that these discounts exist, and the cell phone providers certainly aren’t motivated to advertise these great discounts, particularly for existing customers. Oftentimes, the only thing you’ll need to have to claim these discounts is a valid work or school e-mail address from a participating business or school. Remember to renew your student or employee discount promotional rate periodically since they usually don’t renew automatically. Most of the mobile phone discounts are good for a year - just submit a new discount request again when it expires.

I am going to be attending college and I want to go with Verizon as my carrier. Is there a such thing as an Student Discount?

Sometimes your student email address may offer you employee discounts if you enter the address onto their discount checker. My school has a hospital that is associated with the school and offers discounts for employees of the hospital. Discounts are granted so long as you can provide a school email. Even people who I knew who weren’t actually employees of the school-affiliated hospital were granted employee discounts by simply submitting their school email addresses.
Try clicking on the Verizon discount link and entering your email. It worked for me but may not work for everyone.

I tried putting my school email into verizon and it said I was eligible for an employee discount. However to enroll you need to enter your first name, last name, last 4 of SSN, cell number, a daytime phone number and a billing zip code. Do they have to verify your information with the school/company that provides the discount b/c technically I’m not an employee? I have to find out if the discount only applies to employees or not.

Well, I have a friend who was still able to receive an employee discount despite not technically being an employee as recognized by his email address. Apparently his school email address qualified him to receive a Verizon Wireless discount as an employee of his school’s hospital. Based on what I know, Verizon Wireless does not actually verify your provided information with the school or company. The ethics of doing that are up to you.

hello, my husband and I work in two institutions that offer discount for cell phones. Caritas St.Elizabeth medical center (tufts medical center) and St vincent hospital (fallon clinic affiliated to University of Massachussetts). How can I find the discount rates for at&t plans and cell phones.

I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT IF I WOULD RECIEVE AN EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT AND HOW MUCH IF SO SINCE I AM AN EMPLOYEE OF A SCHOOL SYSTEM I DRIVE A SCHOOL BUS FOR WATERLOO CENTRAL SCHOOL IN CENTRAL NY i WANTED TO CHECK ON GETTING VERIZON WIRELESS FOR MYSELF AND MY DAUGHTER ANY INFO WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
