TaxAct is free for just about everybody and I switched to them last year. Before I haven't even needed that kind of thing...just done it on my own. My dad taught me when I was 14. But what with combining accounts and living difference places and being married--it's crazy. One way I've motivated myself before was by using the return as a kind of "Well I'm going to do this because within 2 hours I'll have 'earned' $x." I've always filed myself because I thought hiring someone else would just be exorbitantly expensive. Plus it's not that hard to file taxes.
