Hey Mrs Micah,

Working 2 part time jobs is definitely like working a full time temp position. It offers more flexibility and somewhat less commitment - helping to free up time for other home business matters. I hope your freelancing is going well (etsy stuff right?)

While I'm not a contract employee...I guess...I like the flexibility afforded by having two part-time jobs (both under 20 hours) and freelancing on the side. Lets me do more with the blog without feeling quite as nervous about the next meal.

Hey Evan,

Well there's just something about the daily content nature of blogs that takes up substantially more time than stand alone sites. I think it's generally a lot easier to juggle a stand alone website with a full time "real" career than it is with a blog.

@MBB,

I have posted comments before, and truly like your site (I have taken a similar route choosing to bypass traditional legal work...I am the Director of Financial Planning at a Wealth Managment firm, heading up advanced techniques and estate planning). I think you have a few years on me (College '03 J.D. 06),but I have to respectfully disagree.

Granted you need some knowledge of what you are doing on the computer, but I think starting an online business/forum/blog is a great way to get extra income without giving up a career. While neither of my sites are "live" I continue to work on them at night when the fiance is watching HORRIBLE television. Maybe it is different when you have kids running around, but designing a site or writing blog posts is the same thing as watching TV - people choose what to do with their free time.

Please take a look at what I have done in this spare time: (<a href="http://www.YourWayYourDay.com" target="blank" rel="nofollow">link</a>) and (<a href="http://www.RealCash4GiftCards.com" target="blank" rel="nofollow">link</a>)

YourWayYourDay is my second attempt, realcash is my first attempt - since learning how to use Kompozer I have to completely redo RealCash.

But like everything on your site - its choices you make...watch TV or have a shot at making more money in your spare time.

SORRY FOR THE LONG POST!
