The $75 promotion was available ONLY online. The Account HAD to be opened online in order to qualify for the promotion. This is how they get away with not giving you your money. You HAVE to open the account online and enter the promotion code, but then what they do is tell you that you never entered the promotion code, even though you know darn well that you did AND you still have the promotion code used. It is nothing but a scandal in order for them to get new customers (this offer was only open to new Bank of America customers), and then they don't deliver what is promised in the promotion. IT IS A SCAM!! STAY AWAY FROM BANK OF AMERICA!!

I must say... B of A is not the only one that gives away free $$ when opening a new account. Suntrust does $50 Visa gift cards. I opened my business checking with PNC bank and recieved $150 new account rebate deposited into my account 4-6 months later. Hello?! What a deal!

DO NOT use online codes and word of mouth. Look for those little inserts in mailers or newspapers that offer these specials. Open your account in person, not online.

I have never heard of anyone not getting the gifts promised. Just follow the Banks small print rules.

re: Tony - Yes you really do get the money. I opened an account 6 years ago and recieved the $100 in my account... comes when you least expect it and most need it. :)

Does anyone no if there are codes for custodial savings accounts?

I also opened a new checking with BofA a month ago but I did not have the code, can I still use it now within 90 days? How?

It takes 90 days so if you havent seen it by now and you opened it 2 months ago, you still have a month to go. B of A is a great strong company. And as long as you follow instructions done to the exclamation point then you should be fine.

Coulee Bank ( http://www.couleebank.net ) offers an incredible 6.01% APY with their Rewards Checking account. The rate is easy to earn. All you have to do is make 10 check card transactions a month, use e-statements, and do 1 automatic payment a month (they call it ACH). Coulee Bank pays 6.01% on the first $25,000 and 1.01% on anything above that. The best thing about this account besides the rate is it is FREE, you can apply online, and it is from a great bank with real people that answer the phone. And as they like to say, Banking Green has its Rewards. The Rewards Checking account saves paper and preserves our natural resources. No wonder I feel good about recommending this to everyone I know. Check it out. I guarantee you will love it.

Geesh... I'm not a big fan of B of A. They're happy to give away $75 to open new accounts, because they will make it back in fees in a matter of months.

I vote "NO" on B of A, and strongly recommend something online like ING.
