Hi Raymond - Thnx for your thoughts. I would obviously rather earn $150,000 at home too if I only made $150,000 a year at a law firm but I'm asking if you'd rather make $150,000 working at home or $500,000 at a big corporate law firm after 5-6 years working there?
I remember my friends who joined Skadden, Wilson Sosini, Sullivan, Wachtel etc all made $150,000 base right out of law school at 26 years old, 6 years ago. They got a marginal $20-30,000 bonus. Fast forward 6 years later, I think every one of them are earning at least $500,000+.
Do you think you'll be able to make $40,000/month on this site? I know JD and Trent make probably $40-60,000/month, which is awesome.

If I could go back in time and possibly re-do law school again, I would work on building my online businesses during the same time I attended law school. I would focus instead on life outside of the legal profession and use my legal background and education to enhance my writing and analytical skills in other fields instead of pursuing a legal position after law school.
Skadden and other big law attorneys do not make $500,000. Associates earn around $150,000 a year, but they work around 70-90 hours a week and are often over worked, over stressed, and emotionally miserable. Law school is very overrated in my opinion. Thus, I would much rather make $150,000 while working from home - with no commuting headaches and no demanding bosses to have to contend with.

Hey Ray - Good to hear from you man. Just wondering, as I have several friends who spent 3 years in law school... would you do it over again? They said it cost like $40,000-$50,000/yr in tuition alone (Georgetown, NYU), and if a majority of graduates don't practice law afterwards, isn't that an awful lot of money to spend?
Also, would you rather blog at home full-time and make $150,000, or work at Skadden and make $500,000 with all the hours considered.

Hi Shannon,
Thanks for reading! Not sure I am all that interesting, but I do have a rather diverse background. I started off my college life pursuing one field, went into graduate school for another, and ultimately winded up in a field totally unrelated to what I received my degrees in.
But yes, I was and still am a long distance runner. Marathons are great, but extremely brutal on the body. If you ran high school cross country, you are probably used to the 3 mile competitions that most high school races are based on. Half and full marathons are much more extreme. Despite the sheer distance, the pace is remarkably faster than you'd think.
I've only ran half marathons before (10 miles) and even those were pretty rough on my feet and legs. I would recommend training and shooting for a half marathon first before trying out for the 26 mile ones.

I'm glad I found your blog, you seem very interesting and have a lot of useful information. I also ran cross country in high school, and was our top long distance runner in track. I have only competed in one little 10K run, but would also like to train for a marathon. I wish you luck!
